LEPOCO held a dedication ceremony for our new peace pole (which was replacing an older peace pole that had been damaged). Eighty people were present for the ceremony, where we unveiled the pole and read the message of peace in each language present. We also had a peace dove and music, and a reading of a proclamation of peace on behalf of Bethlehem’s mayor.

A walk followed the ceremony to two other peace poles in the city with 25 people making the trek from the Bethlehem Rose Garden to Moravian College, to the final pole at the PPL Public Media Center at the Steel Stacks.

This event marked the final event of LEPOCO’s 50th Anniversary celebration year, and included posters by area middle and high schoolers from the 50th Anniversary poster contest.
