Recurring Events


LEPOCO offers a number of regularly occurring events, which our members look forward to year-round. Below are some brief descriptions of the annually occurring events, which make up only a small portion of the programming and action we complete throughout the year.

Monthly Peace VigilSecond Thursday of every month, 4:30 to 5:30 pm (4-5 during daylight saving) at the south approach to the Hill-to-Hill Bridge, 3rd & Wyandotte St., South Bethlehem, 18015.

Underground Reels & Spiels:  A nearly monthly film/talk series that takes place on the third weekend of the month at the LEPOCO Peace Center, downstairs (enter at the back) at 1705 W. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Martin Luther King Remembrance Day: A January event planned by the Stop the Wars Committee, remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 

LEPOCO Annual Gathering: A fundraiser celebrating our members and our community. Features great people, delicious home-cooked vegetarian food, an art auction and a guest speaker. Held annually in March.

Tax Day leafleting: Join us in distributing “Where Your Income Tax Money Really Goes” flyers from the War Resisters League at local post offices.

Bike/Walk-A-Thon: Join LEPOCO for your choice of a walk (4-6 miles) or bike ride (23 miles on towpath and streets). Held annually – now in Autumn.

Peace Camp: Young people (completed K-7th grade), teens, and adults are invited to participate in this week of stories, games, music and crafts each July.

Hiroshima & Nagasaki Remembrance:  – An August event planned by the Stop the Wars Committee, remembering the horrors afflicted on Hiroshima and Nagasaki 

Peace Pilgrimage: LEPOCO is a Sponsor/Partner of this outside event – December

LEPOCO Holiday Open House and Peace Boutique DECEMBER – Fair Trade crafts & food from around the world through SERRV; Snazzy Buttons & Stickers; Beautiful Holiday Greeting Cards;  Calendars;  Notecards & Postcards with meaningful messages.
