The Lehigh Valley Peace Coalition came together in late 2002 in an attempt to prevent the U.S. invasion of Iraq and has been working since March 2003 to end the war and occupation of Iraq by the United States. The war in Afghanistan has also been a focus of the Coalition's work.

The groups in the coalition are varied - community groups, religious groups, peace groups, environmental groups, veterans groups and student groups have all participated.
The Lehigh Valley Peace Coalition has held vigils, speak-outs and rallies, sponsored buses to national and regional demonstrations, hosted the Eyes Wide Open exhibit twice, and organized educational programs.
On October 19th, 2010, the Lehigh Valley Peace Coalition sponsored a program with Mike Prokosch of United For Justice With Peace, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley. "The 25% Solution" is a movement calling for a reduction of military spending to fund work in our communities.
The video to the left contains all seven parts of Mike's presentation.
The Lehigh Valley Peace Coalition has also sponsored multiple screenings of "Rethink Afghanistan," a documentary focusing on several key issues of the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan.
